Sara & Howard's Wedding

Here are a few photos of Sara and Howard's wedding at St. Luke's Church in Upper Broughton, near Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire.

When I arrived at Sara and Howard's house to take the bridal preparation shots, I was greeted by their ever-so cute daughter Millie who wan't the least bit shy.  She came straight up to me and said "Hello, my name's Millie and I'm four."!  That's Millie below, the bridesmaid with the water pistol.  I then took some photos of Sara having her make-up expertly applied by Ashleigh Turner, before she put on her stunning wedding dress by Angela Vickers.  Sara and her dad then headed off to the church in a vintage VW camper van (supplied by Beetle Days) with a VW Beetle for the bridesmaids.

The guests were entertained at the church and reception by Highly Strung String Quartet, whose classy music created a real sense of occasion.  Apparently, the guests had been sent very unusual wedding invitations in the form of a DVD (instead of printed on card) which were supplied by Emotions on DVD.

While much of the country suffered extremely heavy rain yesterday, Sara and Howard enjoyed a mostly-dry day.  Unfortunately, the moment they stepped out of the church, the heavens opened, so they had a mad dash back to the camper van to take shelter from the rain before heading off for their wedding reception at The Nottinghamshire Golf & Country Club at Cotgrave, near Nottingham.  The club has recently been refurbished to very high specifications and it made for an excellent wedding venue, which was further enhanced by the beautiful wedding flowers by Sophie's Flower Company.

As there were so many children (around 25), a creche was provided by Practical Childcare Solutions, who managed to keep the children entertained throughout.  A chocolate fountain by Coco Falls proved to be a hit with old and young alike, although needless to say, the kids were first in the queue!  A novelty wedding cake by Cakey Wakey in the shape of a VW camper van with sugarcraft figures of Sara, Howard and their children Millie and Archie made the cake really personal.  Finally, the happy couple and their guests danced the night away to a very talented duo called Pesky Alligators
